La Conner, WA is hosting its 26th annual Art’s Alive! this weekend. Looking for a nice excursion? Take a drive down Chuckanut to check out this lovely little town (about a 45 minute drive from Bellingham) and see some great art. La Conner is known as an artist community, with beautiful scenery and a quaint downtown. This is their art event of the year, with hundreds of artists participating.
Art’s Alive is “A Celebration of Visual, Literary, Musical & Culinary Arts” that has something for everyone. The main event is an invitational art show at Maple Hall in downtown La Conner. Also at Maple Hall, there is an Emerging Artists Exhibit and an Open Art Show. There’s also an Invitational Jewelry Exhibit at La Conner’s Civic Garden Center. Not to mention art shows and artist demonstrations at over 30 of the local galleries!
From Pat’s comment below: There will be artist doing live demonstrations at the Skagit County Historical Museum on both Saturday and Sunday from noon to 3pm. Also, see our exhibit- “The Way We Played: Early Skagit Recreation” featuring skiing, skating, hiking, camping, picnicking, hunting, fishing and more!
